Now ecoconscious parents can give their wee ones a stylish head start. Baby clothing made of organic cotton finally has moved beyond oatmeal-colored basics to a range of colors and prints that are irresistibly vibrant. And you don't have to drive a Prius or shop at Whole Foods to appreciate the chemical- and pesticide-free style that's available in everything from buntings to bibs.

"Organic clothing is where organic food products were 10 years ago," says Janice Masoud, founder of the clothing company Under the Nile. "It's just entering the mainstream. This is good news for the planet--just one T shirt made from 100 percent organic cotton saves about one-third of a pound of synthetic fertilizers and farm chemicals.
